Art for All ry is a community of artists that aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of art and culture. The organisation has been started by art students and alumni from both the University of the Arts in Helsinki and Aalto University. Art For All is organizing an art festival that brings together young artists. The festival will be organized 20-22.8.2021 at the Malmi airport hangar in Helsinki. Festival features pieces from performing arts to installations and audiovisual works.

Summary
Art for All ry is a community of artists that aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of art and culture. The organisation has been started by art students and alumni from both the University of the Arts and Aalto University. The founding members have a background in the student movement and organizing big art productions. Art For All is organizing an art festival that brings together young artists. The festival will be organized 20-22.8.2021 at the Malmi airport hangar in Helsinki. Festival features pieces from performing arts to installations and audiovisual works. The festival is free of cost and open to all participants.
The theme of the festival is Invisible Connection. The theme touches the experience of the pandemic times and at the same time the connections between people, cultures, species and the digital world. Through this theme the artists will explore the connection that has been broken and how we come back together.
Art For All will organize an artist call in June. The artists will be selected at the end of June and their works will be combined into a cohesive whole. The artists will have time to prepare during July and August. The working groups will be guided in designing their works in the space. During 16.8.-19.8. the artists will work and build up their pieces in the hangar. The working process of the artists is an important part of the event. While working in the hangar the artists will learn from each other. The festival opening will be held on Friday 20.8. featuring time specific pieces such as performances and an opening party in the evening. From 21. to 22.8. the hangar will have open doors and the audience can experience pieces such as installations. The process will be documented and by this we want to make visible the work and people behind the art.
Key objectives for sustainability
Art is a good channel to have difficult discussions. The theme of the festival is Invisible Connection. Through this theme the artists will explore the connection that has been broken and how we come back together. The festival can bring about visions of a better future to return to after this pandemic.
The mission of Art For All is to support the young talents in the field of art and to help promote a vibrant and sustainable field of art. If the field of art is healthy and strong it is better equipped to raise up the discussion we need to have as a society on our current way of life.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
Art For All wants to bring art outside the traditional culture institutions and closer to the citizens. Through the festival and other smaller initiatives Art For All wants to raise discussion on what role art could play in cities.
Art For All community believes that dismantling hierarchies and elitism from the field of art is a benefit for art. The larger the group that feels ownership and engagement in art, the larger is the group that sees art as a valuable part of society and will defend its position.
The participants of the Art For All Festival are encouraged to actively participate instead of being simply a passive audience. The goal is to give the participants a chance to interact with the works at the festival. The festival will involve discussion on art and culture. Through this Art For All wants to open up a dialogue on the meaning of art in the lives of the citizens.

The mission of the organization is to support the position of young artists by making cooperation easier. Art for All has been born from the need for a more inclusive and accepting community in the art field. We offer peer support and multi artistic collaboration instead of competition.
The vision of Art For All is an arts and culture field that is open to everyone no matter their background or economic status. The association aims to dismantle hierarchies and thresholds from the field of art. We support creative work of young artists by providing platforms, resources and support to making and exhibiting art. In addition to creating opportunities a core vision of the association is to create cross artistic collaboration and solidarity in the field of art and culture. A core vision is also a more accessible art and culture field that more people can feel ownership of. Art For All aims to bring art and culture closer to citizens by open and accessible art events.
Accessibility of art is at the core of the activity of Art For All. As the association's name suggests, art belongs to everyone. Through the festival art can be brought outside traditional culture institutions and into a new environment closer to the citizens. The festival is free of cost so that everyone no matter their financial situation can experience art.
Innovative character
The Art For All Festival is organized by students and young artists for students and young artists. The aim is to provide opportunities to young talent starting their career.
The focus of the festival is in the cross artistic collaboration where the artists encounter people from different disciplines and learn from each other. Art does not function in a bubble. It is important to work together with others as art belongs in all spaces and conversations. We also consider collaboration to be the key element in developing as an artist. There is always room for a new perspective.
