The project of greenhouse in Lublin is intended to note the problem of alcoholism. The object was designed from glass beer bottles. It is unusual, cheap and ecofriendly solution. Furthermore, it creates an interesting light effect inside of the object. The greenhouse would be a place for inhabitants of the nearest quarter of the buildings. They could grow plants here and meet other people.

Summary
The project of greenhouse from glass bottles is localized near Skośna street in Lublin, between tenement houses and Czechówka river. This area has got untapped potential and needs revitalization. Inhabitants of this part of the city struggle with many problems. One of them is alcoholism. This conception is intended to note this issue. The greenhouse covers 33 square metres. It was designed as a steel construction filled glass beer bottles joined with the mortar.
Key objectives for sustainability
The greenhouse walls were designed from glass beer bottles. It is a cheap and ecofriendly solution because of the material reusing. Moreover, inside the object people can grow plants like organic vegetables.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
Glass bottles which were used in project, create interesting light effect inside of the greenhouse. Furthermore, it is a transparent and green material so the building suits to the surrounding and does not overwhelm nearby greenery. Above the entrance I designed neon „Szklarnia” (which means „Greenhouse” in polish) with crossed-out bottle instead of letter „i”.
Key objectives for inclusion
The object was designed for inhabitants of the nearest quarter of the buildings. They could grow plants here for themselves. This place would be also a meeting space connecting people.
Innovative character
The technology of building from recycled glass bottles is unusual, cheap and ecofriendly. Perhaps it is not a good way to build houses but it can work to create small architecture, especially greenhouses. Bottles ensure an easy access to the sunlight. In this way there is a favorable microclimate to grow some plants inside of the building.
