The way we live is changing rapidly throughout the 21st century. The broad aim of the research is to map the evolution of the living environment and its influence on the human being and vice versa. How can architects respond to new conditions? What is the role of the architect in the process?
Publicly accessible lectures Architecture - Einundzwanzig is the first season of Serie Architecture - "21". Every season will map a situation in a different cultural background, starting with Germans.

Summary
We believe that architects have a potential to contribute in the form of a living environment in a positive way. The aim of the research is to compare the situation in the Czech Republic and in German-speaking countries. On one hand, our countries have strong historical and cultural connections, on the other hand, the contemporary architecture of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland is an important source of inspiration for many Czech architects. In the research, investigators would like to address the architects and other specialists with the following topics:
Role of architect in the process of creation and transformation of the living environment, his tools and competences Knowledge, education of future architects. Process of permitting Urban and architecture competitions To provide a complex comparison, investigators will address foreign architects, as well as architects with Czech origin,
who operate in German-speaking countries, and also foreign architects with designing experience in the Czech Republic.
The research aims to contribute to a better understanding of the role of an architect in today's society. The aim is also to trigger a discussion about the competencies and tools, which we can use to empower the position of an architect in the process of creation and transformation of the living environment. It is very important to share the gained knowledge and to open the research to the academic and architecture community as well as to the public. Therefore, the publicly accessible lectures will be promoted, recorded, and published online.
Key objectives for sustainability
The creation and transformation of the living environment is a vast and complex process, involving many participants and specialists. The built environment of nowadays cities is dominated by technical and traffic infrastructure, especially car traffic. In the Czech Republic, more than 90% of buildings are realized without the contribution of an architect.
The way we live has not been sustainable for a long time. We have to think about how we going to live in the future. I would like to compare different ideas, principles around the culture. Discussion based on the ideas of people through different professions can bring new ideas and become a new platform connecting the right, motivated people.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
The word "Architecture" these days has a much more complex meaning. Architecture is not only about making nice looking and well-working buildings. Architects have to think critically and find the consequences of every step. (Environment, culture, sustainability, human rights, ecology, economy, aesthetics, etc.). The project is going to map a problem "way we live" from many perspectives together and make a big brainstorming around different professions. What is necessary for the next generations.
Key objectives for inclusion
The project will be open to the public. It will connect people around the world, which provide an opportunity to bring a mixture of ideas to one place for everyone. All material will be published online.

Innovative character
Project join many people from different cultural and professional backgrounds together to the faculty environment. It has many potentials to start a new platform for communications. Communications/ discussion is basic for everything.
