Description of the project

Summary

The Agro Biomaterials Kit is a product that allows the creation of biomaterials from organic waste as a solution to food waste and as an alternative to synthetic materials. All this with the aim of raising public awareness among to establish ethical and sustainable values as a way of life. The fact that a new material can be created from organic household waste leads to a change in mindset.

With this Kit seeks to create the Agro community, where each contribution, no matter how small, helps research of new materials and continue to develop new techniques as well as new applications for these new compostable materials. Thus generating a community where we help each other with the sole purpose of learning, go ahead and achieve a more sustainable present.

Key objectives for sustainability

Taking into account that one third of the food produced in the world is wasted every year and that recycling is still today an uncommon practice in our daily life, the key objectives in environmental terms are the reduction of food waste in terms of greenhouse gases, starting with the recycling of household organic matter. It is for this reason that the Agro Biomaterials Kit tries to recycle the organic waste that the user has at home, so that he himself learns and manufactures his own biomaterials, so that he can later use them in different applications.

Key objectives for aesthetics and quality

We want to be part of our consumer's day to day life, therefore, in this project, design plays a very important role in terms of aesthetics. With the aim of adapting the product to the moment and the current aesthetics, as well as to the consumer in question, the aesthetics and the general appearance of the project have been taken into account at all times. From the design of the product itself, to all its graphics and communication. All this with the aim of creating a simple and attractive product for the consumer and with which to attract their attention and feel interest in the product and the experience that comes with creating a new biodegradable material from organic waste.

Key objectives for inclusion

In terms of inclusiveness, the project stands out for its accessibility, co-design and citizen engagement.

The ultimate goal is to democratize the formula to create new materials from organic waste as well as to raise awareness about the second use we can give to our waste. Thanks to the accessibility and affordability of the Agro Biomaterials Kit, everyone has access to this information and can continue to research and develop new techniques as well as new applications for these new compostable materials. Generating a community where we help each other with the sole purpose of learning, moving forward and achieving a more sustainable present.

Innovative character

The aim of the project is to reduce and raise awareness of the environmental consequences of food waste. Through a design and communication adapted to the moment and the consumer, the Agro Biomaterials Kit has been created, which consists of the necessary ingredients to make biomaterials at home from organic waste. With the aim of educating and raising awareness about the importance of recycling and the second use we can give to waste. All this also to implement ethical and sustainable values as a way of life.
