Description of the project

Summary

INCORP pays homage to the collaborative spirit that brought this project to life. INCOPR's major inspiration is the interconnectedness and collaborative ecology of Mother Nature. In today's world we believe a strong focus on health and healing is urgently needed, both with the planet & ourselves.

INCORP stands for “IN BODY” and to be “INCORPORATED” with ALL living things; INCORP asks questions about the body and community both through direct dialogue with the world and through engaging a broad a spectrum of arts and creativity.

In early 2021, INCORP invited an interdisciplinary group of artists with questions about humanity, spirituality, sustainability, and connectivity to take part in a residency at the Palm Heights, Grand Cayman. The participating artists researched, discussed, and collaborated, realizing their works on site, shared with community and capture through video.

INCORP is working to have a full launch with an event in Paris in 2022, showing the works created as part of their Cayman residency as well as performances and work of local Paris based artists connected by the same theme. The event is designed to unfold over a 33 hour interactive experience. Experimentation, questioning, and sharing are the key words for this event. Giving people a "day" in the life of collaboration & exchange. In the experience one is not ‘served', instead one becomes part of the event. Participation is KEY. We believe that through participation and contribution, people can feel a sense of belonging and connection.

The event will be documented and everything created is planned to continue on to Berlin, where we will be working with local artists. After Berlin the event plans to move to Zurich, then Milan, and ideally beyond. Like an ‘exquisite corpse’, INCORP plans to move from city to city, working with Local artists: performers, musicians, chefs, plant medicine, teachers, and healers, and incorporating all with the arts & culture from the cities prior.

Key objectives for sustainability

INCORP seeks to bring attention to the concept of working LOCALLY and focusing on who and what is around us, while sharing what has been explored in a similar manner in other localities. Celebrating locally based artist, chefs, healers, teachers, farmers and dancers in each location. The food used for this project is 'farm to table' principle, using what’s in season and locally harvested and creating 'power foods' through fermentation to nourish the immune system and body. This process is participation based, we encourage people to participate by cook and serve with us, asking questions about the process, and share their knowledge of food and healing. We also encourage participants to share what feels comfortable through their art, both through engagement with the food and conversation of participants.

We will be creating workshops around the body, movement, sounds voice, creativity, writing ... where again people are encourage to participate however they feel comfortable

The entire project feels as though its moving in a circular motion, sharing, giving, receiving, resting, as well as through the 3 main actions highlighted for this event: CLEANSE, SUPPORT AND GIUDE.

Key objectives for aesthetics and quality

The aesthetics behind INCORP stems from deep connections to the art and fashion word. We love to bring people into a world unique to itself, allowing people a moment in another atmosphere and dimension. Every detail is imagined and considered. Aesthetics are an important aspect of our work.

We work with a team of set designers and artists to create a world of its own, for people to immerse themselves into & let go out outside.

People are welcome and asked to leave their shoes, bags, jackets, phones - leaving the outside world at the door & continuing on through a very subtle yet powerful series of welcoming. As all the food is ingested with ones hand, we wash everyones hands. One by one, connecting them to their self and the space.

With various workstations, people can join in to help, or view projections of work done in the Cayman Island, or join a workshop. Different things will be going all throughout the entire time. People are welcome to "land" where they feel most comfortable.

Eating will be served on low tables, again connecting people to the ground, with performance and music in line with corses. Eating with your hands, one is encouraged to "make a mess" letting go. There are no forks, plats, cups - everything is organic. Its a feast of colors and playfulness. Leaving at the end a beautiful canvas, an art piece, made by everyone.

Key objectives for inclusion

INCORP seeks to create safe space where all are welcome. With a broad network of all walks of life, we encourage everyone to participate. Ideally the event is free or at an accessible ticket price aimed at inclusivity, so financial considerations are not a limitation from engagement.

The best example of this is through our project In Co Lab's “tea time” where all where welcomed during an open studio to participate for free. Allowing a short yet powerful moment to play, connect, and let go.

There will be rotating chefs coming with a new crew of people for each of their meals, teaching and sharing their "super food" techniques & allowing anyone to put an apron on and participate. Learn, share, exchange.

Same with all the other workshops, sharing - we want to encourage and open space where people are welcome to share thoughts and ideas. Always questioning.

Results in relation to category

INCORP seeks to be a growing platform and community, weaving questions of health and healing into a contemporary vision. Reactions and results have thus given us momentum to continue this work as we grow with it. We have received feedback from previous events that participants leave feeling deeply connected, playful, having let go, after experiencing meaningful exchanges throughout the event. Often times "exactly what they needed"

How Citizens benefit

This project is 100% participation based, meaning people are welcomed into all aspects of the project. Workshops, cooking, cleaning, serving, dancing, playing music ...  everyone can participate however they feel comfortable and inspired. Everyone is welcome.

There is magic in the unknown, so the more people that we do not know participating the more interesting the result & the greater positive effect we have witnessed on participating communities.

Innovative character

Combining art, fashion, and healing in a communal environment. We create safe spaces for people to participate and share, working locally, and considering our work and contribution to the world in terms of our bodies, mind, and environment. We support finding a new language to consider our existence through experimentation in myriad disciplines.

This is perhaps the opposite of mainstream and why it seems to work so well in connecting people again, to themself and to others.

Learning transferred to other parties

Our online platform aims to be another safe space for all to engage, while also hosting documentation of each event so we can share on a world-wide scale. We are working and seeking to work with young developers to create the next generation of websites; “web 3” a place where people can experience, share, and exchange.
