WHAT IS AN ORACLE? IN ALL ITS FORMS, PRACTICES, WISHES, TRACES, WHERE IS THE ORACLE? A door of ice four meters high and two meters wide faces us. An ice stone is placed outside, on a large emblematic square of a city. We come to visit ORAKL at night. He is present long enough to use up his ice matter and its solutions or puzzles. A questioning-recording surface exists. It is a plaque placed on the ground on which are drawn two prints of the feet and the inscription: ASK ME A QUESTION.

WHAT IS AN ORACLE? IN ALL ITS FORMS, PRACTICES, WISHES, TRACES, WHERE IS THE ORACLE? A door of ice four meters high and two meters wide faces us. An ice stone is placed outside, on a large emblematic square of a city. Orakl would be in a large, open and silent place, a place of gathering. It has a concrete form, that of a door. False door of the Egyptian dead, miniature door Etruscan tombs, Roman door or Greek portico, door to the beyond, a living source of inspiration, ocean of words. In its essence, it holds an enigma. It allows the citizen an experience of the mirror - through the looking glass - in the open air, and a spectacular experience of the Word. It is itself made of water, itself a reservoir of meaning, a diamond, a totem, translucent and super-sensitive surface. Because it melts, it should be shown outdoors. Yet it appeals within us. Mirroring, she answers for us. She looks like us because she reflects on our questions. It has the answers we cannot imagine. She is an ORAKL. It has a K because it is happening in modern times and because it responds to each particular case. We have lost our rites and therefore no longer have common languages. The language of the world is in wood and we will end in marble. We are alone with our questions. We come to visit ORAKL at night. ORAKL a door that speaks to you is an interactive project aimed at all ages and categories of populations. It aims to be a space for international questioning. The questions can be asked in all languages thanks to two masters of ceremonies engaged in the various places of programming of the world. Its societal stake is the possibility of creating a sacred object in the heart of a city where consultants can come and seek an answer to their questions. In Delphi in Greece in antiquity, the politicians came to consult the pythia, the oracle, to make important decisions such as going to war etc ... ORAKL today offers a space for questioning the future.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
Envers Compagnie is an independent creation benchmark which since 1991 imagines literature, cinema, live shows, performances, radio plays, performance installations ice and collaborates with other artists to broaden his field of vision. The installations and performances have been for the last fifteen years the way in which I manage to concentrate all the forms explored by ENVERS COMPAGNIE. Indeed, language, poetry, orality, music, the projected image, the recording of voices, the plastic form are there reunited. ORAKL concentrates inside a mythological and contemporary door at the same time, all these substances. It delivers a message while remaining a non-anthropomorphic form, it addresses to the public, projects the images of a film, is embodied in a book, wants to be a kind of urban monolith, open to all questions. It follows a series of smaller scale installations. Its monumentality, its translucency would like to impose a still unknown sensuality, an experience visual, tactile and sound that allow the ORAKL consultant to access a form of fourth dimension in the heart of the city.
Key objectives for inclusion
The base of questions posed in front of the oracular door allows all audiences, even those who are not used to confronting contemporary art, to come and ask a question in their language. The artistic device makes it possible both to amplify the consultant's question and to let everyone hear the answer. For this it is an interactive and collective work that brings together an audience without distinctions and without borders.
Results in relation to category
A piece of transformation, it melts little by little during the night, having delivered through its material, all its meaning. Ecological, it dissolves like rainwater.
How Citizens benefit
Ephemeral form invented and offered to doubts, ORAKL offers a base of questions where the consultant climbs, stands on a footprint engraved with the inscription ASK ME A QUESTION. The questions and the – amplified – answers are audible to the entire audience present. This translucent Totem allows a public experience of oneself in front of the mirror, a kind of performance of a "Know thyself". Artistic and alchemical device, it remains a proposal of pure fiction far from the practices of cartomancy or clairvoyance. If it lights up and would like to illuminate a path, it is above all a magic square devoted to an unusual form of dialogue in a mineral and mythical form.

Innovative character
To be able to install/produce this ORAKL on a scale of 1, that is to say 4 meters high by 2 meters wide, in the heart of the city and find its right place of appearance one night one day is my main motivation, like that of have the means of masters of ceremonies and a flood of public.
ORAKL the interactive installation in its final form, has never been realized yet and is still currently in its work in progress phase. The oracular performances carried out until today are only forms of minimal experimentation of the process itself: experimentation with a limited audience of questions and answers, experimentation with possible electro-acoustic treatments, experimentation with snow patterns inside a miniature block of ice.
Learning transferred to other parties
It is an artistic project, a reflection about OUR FUTURE, the way to live an experience all together, from sunset to sunrise.
