Trevisobellunosystem is a territorial marketing project that, for more than 21 years, has been communicating the value of Treviso and Belluno, expressing the charm of the culture of doing business in the beauty of the territory and in the entrepreneurial excellence. It does this by dialoguing with and supporting stakeholders and valuing the younger generations with GenerAZIONE2026 in accordance with the principles of the Trevisobellunosystem Values Charter.

Description of the project

Summary

Trevisobellunosystem, the Economic Website, was started in 2002 as an informative ICT tool able to improve the local economy and to foster the promotion and development of the local community in Treviso and Belluno. A more widespread level of communication has been achieved, concerning not only the activities of the Chamber, but also those of the whole economic community. Among all the initiatives we have successfully completed, there are:
- Monthly Newsletter in Italian and English, sent to the operators as a key tool for the update of information about the evolution of the local economy and the socio-economic events
- The column “Sustainability and Innovation”, which shows some investment strategies for post-pandemic sustainable development in Treviso and Belluno.
- GenerAZIONE2026: a column to show every step, event, result and award of project aimed at working on the values of young Olympism in the generations and in the socio-economic context of the Veneto region in view of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Para-Olympic Games.
- The presentation of the local manufacturing districts as a key tool both for the promotion of the area and for a deeper awareness of the local economy
- Our relationship with the system of the Italian Chambers Abroad, promoting their initiatives on our website and offering a platform to show our enterpreneurs the peaks of internationalization.
- The Turism Section which aims at showing the beauty of our territory also as a driving force for economic development.
We can say that Trevisobellunosystem is a precious tool in its field, as it:
- stands for the whole socio-economic community, rather than single companies, institutions or entrepreneurs;
- contributes in developing the human resources, the social capital and the networks
- pursues a social vision of collective well-being and of particular tools for social integration;
- uses IT and telematic techniques to carry out “no-barriers information”.

Key objectives for sustainability

- Trevisobellunosystem daily build a direct, simplified and localised dialogue with its institutional stakeholders, businesses, young people and citizens through its web platform and social channels, guided by the values of the Social Responsibility Charter and considering communication as an asset of sustainability as a strategic opportunity to transfer knowledge and learn the value of sustainability, in order to remain competitive. The Chamber of Commerce of Treviso - Belluno|Dolomiti, which has always offered valuable real services to businesses, makes even more effective and impactful its action of promoting and supporting the process of development of a good economy that means ethics, respect for people and the environment in especially with the great responsibility of the Unesco sites the Prosecco Hills and of the Dolomites, as well as the biosphere of Monte Grappa and the Venetian villas of Maser and Villa Emo. In order to help concretely the socio-economic community in understanding the cultural transition, dedicated articles written by the co-founder of the portal, Dr Renato Chahinian, are published on trevisobellunosystem under the heading SUSTAINABILITY.

Key objectives for aesthetics and quality

The voice of our users is the best way to describe us, and in these 21 years of activity
we have always wanted the design to follow the times to ensure a friendly navigation, as well as the colours follow the trends to communicate the importance of design as a facilitator of knowledge dissemination. Our users were approached and involved in each change in aesthetics , and together we shared the changes with dedicated banners, indicating the reasons, with a direct communication from the co-founders and heirs of the co-founders, using the web and social media. Aesthetics are also inherent in the territories of Treviso and Belluno: often just the act of narrating an event that takes place in a Venetian villa or from our own chamber headquarters in Belluno with the backdrop of the Mountains underlines the pay-off of our Chamber of Commerce: Beauty and Enterprise.

Key objectives for inclusion

From our Newsletter in Italian and in English we monthly reach 5,000 subscribers, with informational services, targeted towards smaller enterprises that do not have big structures, and educational services, through the publication of articles raising awareness towards innovation, sustainability and improvement of human capital.
We achieved beneficial effects, raising awareness and thus inclusiveness of all users without creating barriers or distinctions of knowledge, giving opportunities for new developmental initiatives. In addition, the portal's editorial team uses a "plain language" approach accessible to all. Here is also a section devoted to interviews with authorities and experts that give the users reliable informations about the economic conditions and opportunities. In addition, in the concept of "welcome marketing," translated versions in many languages have been created so that foreign people who come to live and work in Treviso and Belluno find themselves welcomed by understanding the complex structure of the institutions.
The service of Trevisobellunosystem spans a wide range of sources (from national level to local and regional levels), in order to offer the operator of our territory a complete information base on the problems and opportunities that, from time to time, they may be faced with and thus have the tools to deal with them in the best possible way. In addition, particular sections for a promotional service of the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad, in order to create a Chamber network link, and also a section dedicated to news from the European Commission, directly from the European Commission Spokesperson's Service.
In addition, the Portal has directly promoted worldwide the image and visibility of many small businesses with the column "TheCompanies", a Community promoted in Italian, English, Spanish and Chinese, which has created numerous business opportunities and published good business practices, especially in the CSR field.

How Citizens benefit

Relationship with local/national and community institutions
a. The portal acts as a mediator between Treviso, Veneto, European institutions and
ministries in order to disseminate informations that are useful for the life and
professional activities of citizens, informations that are usually difficult to
to be reached by the final user.
b. The editorial team strives to mediate in language by simplifying
difficult terminology in order to provide understandable information.

c. The portal is aimed to be used as a sharing tool. It gives voice to local institutions to provide an overview and provide an effective communication tool also to organisations that don’t have a communication structure. It also aims to create a network between various institutions, which are thus mutually informed.

d. The portal presents itself to users as an information aggregator for all the
activities and projects of the various realities in the area, starting for the first time disseminating the news of trade associations, which in turn are informed of ongoing projects, thus creating a network in the area, thus supporting the territorial social capital.

Relationship with businesses and communities
The portal is aimed at listening to users' requests by setting a range of typologies
of response . The portal, with the intention of supporting the activities carried out by the CSR and Environment Desk of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso, is also committed to disseminate information on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) issues, publishes
good practices of local companies, and gives news about awards (mentions and prizes) received by them.The data provided by the editorial team such as: addresses,
links, e-mails, are checked periodically by the editorial team in order to continue to be a reliable source of information and not miss 'business opportunities'

Innovative character

This type of technology in 2002 was absolutely innovative. This project was leading by example in institutional circles having been the first web portal with a market place and for companies with free online registration, but with the sine qua non of having a website, spurring companies to make the first digital transition web 1.0 and web 2.0, seizing business opportunities in the web world with their own websites and email domain. In 2023, the technology was completely overhauled with a new Cms platform in WordPress curated by t2i and a new technology for sending the newsletter with Infocamere. Again, there’s an absolute collaboration with the institutions of the territory in a systemic way for the sake of the accessibility of the local community.

Disciplines/knowledge reflected

The Founders thought together to create in 2002 this important web reality, which was futuristic for the time and they did it by reasoning together between Chamber of Commerce SG Chahinian, University Cà Foscari prof. Feltrin and Treviso Technology Director ing. Bedin (now t2i) the investee company of CCIAA as Technology Partner Treviso technology. So in the celebration of 10 years of activity of the portal and last year with the celebration of 20 years we interviewed the co-founders, listening again to the genesis of the architecture of Trevisobellunosystem. In addition, to remember the influential Professor Ferruccio Bresolin, an event was organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Trevisobellunosystem at Piazza Italia, Palazzo Italia in NY with Professor Minello collaborator of Prof. Bresolin and with Prof. Domenico Salvatore, guests of the President of the Italo-American Chamber of Commerce of NY Alberto Milani, with the will of President Mario Pozza. The added value after 21 years, that we verify annually is that the economy of Treviso and Belluno is of absolute interest now for investment funds. Trevisobellunosystem is still a helpful and valid promoter as a format that can be declined to good economies in Italy and abroad precisely because of the connections between different and complex partners and types of knowledge, which we simplify with transparency, daily updating, localization, plain language and predictive interception of events.

Methodology used

Our methodology is based on: inclusiveness, democracy of information and application of technology to benefit everyone including people with physical disabilities. We are near the civic society and local companies in helpful ways during major economic crises such as 2008, Storm Vaia, and the lockdown caused by the Covid pandemic. The editorial staff of Trevisobellunosystem voluntarily decided to have Social Responsibility Charter to qualify the values it intends to respect and spread, sharing with users and stakeholders the identity of its communication. As written in the Charter, it is the result of a path that began in 2002, thanks to the example of the first Social Report of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso and then continued, attending courses on Corporate Social Responsibility. The ever-increasing number of accesses to the portal and the multitude of proposals on the web has made us feel the need to delve into the subject of Corporate Social Responsibility in order to guarantee our users an ethics of communication, so that they benefit from content that "responsibly" takes people into account and ensures transparent and effective communication. Responsible behavior, understood as a strategic opportunity and the purpose of the portal, are two synergistic elements integrated in the management of the portal's activity.
The charter of values therefore constitutes: 1. an opportunity for self-assessment aimed at an internal analysis, to explain the many responsible daily actions carried out already unconsciously. 2. to publicly account for and give visibility to its activity as an added value, with the hope that it will be an opportunity for transfer to other realities. Through the Portal, are disseminated:
• News about the progress and structure of Treviso, Belluno and Veneto
• Information on events
• In-depth columns
• Promotion of the attractiveness of the area
• Enhancement of local realities
• Ethical-social principles aimed at develop

How stakeholders are engaged

Involvement is among the objectives of the portal and is carried out with interviews of the heads of the Economic Districts, the presidents of the trade associations, the Councilors of the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad, the GenerAZIONE2026 project, with the daily publication of press releases of the trade associations, to support the promotion of the partners' initiatives. With the Veneto Region publication of press release sas with the national chamber system, Unioncamere Veneto, Unioncamere, Assocamerestero. We also promote involvement with News from Europe, the Veneto desk in Brussels. They know we are there and that they can count on us, in fact, they request us to promote their projects as a real community aimed at the common good.

Global challenges

Challenges faced: supporting business resilience to current and structural crises, from dual digital and ecological transition, to internationalization.
How? The portal is customer oriented, that is, it has the user at the center of its activity. Every activity and strategic choice is aimed at the end user with the goal of being useful, effective, and timely for the professional and entrepreneurial tasks of its users.
Also with a customer-oriented perspective, the portal aims to be a mediator of language by simplifying difficult terminologies in order to provide information that everyone can understand. In recent years, the editorial staff has been the spokesperson to other institutions for the requests that have come in by putting the user in contact with the people of the institution concerned, acting as a mediator between the institutions and the citizen, operating with respect for the user as a person. The editorial staff thus shared knowledge of the territory and the roles of institutions. The portal acts as an intermediary in synthesizing news to give usable and expendable information. The portal acts as a mediator between institutions in Treviso, Veneto, Europe and ministries to disseminate information useful for the lives and professional activities of citizens. Information that is usually difficult for the end user to reach.
The language versions are not a simple translation, but follow careful localization; that is, they are profiled for the target country while maintaining the brand identity, but adapting the graphics, selecting topics for the target market.

Learning transferred to other parties

The format is absolutely replicable because it is based on the collaboration of stakeholders, the promotion of territories in terms of economics, tourism, school and university education, and the promotion of economic activities (companies) to citizens and abroad. The architecture is complex but simple and does not ask to invent anything except to base the vision aimed at the common good. A region that involves all its chambers of commerce may be the best landing place for information from the area. The editorial staff of Trevisobellunosystem has focused on organization as in editing a newspaper but without ever competing with them, but only as a spur in the transition to digital. Communication is streamlined by our inclusion on stakeholder mailing lists so that they communicate without adding additional work to their activities, such as csm, calls, events, photos, interviews, welcome releases, newsletter in two languages, localization and translation of content. The lessons that can be replicated or transferred are transparent and effective communication, participation in territorial activities, increased knowledge of the local and regional socio-economic cotxt, enhancement of financial and internal human resources, and dialogue with everyone. The creation of the video "On the Wings of the Chamber: where talent is at home" ( in Italian and English) is a replicable format, which is an example of how it is possible to create that connection between institutional territorial promotion, good business making, and overseas promotion with the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad.
