Description of the project
Summary
The project seeks to build an approach that fosters renewed intercultural dialogue, offering Europeans an alternative space in the face of crises. It also aims to encourage the creativity and expression of a positive common narrative that makes people want to continue building Europe by including all its components.
Music Schools have been identified as an ideal place to explore and express these issues, as today’s young people represent the future of Europe and often experience the question of intercultural dialogue more acutely than their elders.
Starting point: chamber music groups or orchestras have been recognised as places where a musician embraces empathy and sense of belonging. Is it so?
The project focuses on the diversity of young music students aged 15-18 coming from Italy, Austria, Slovenia, countries that have been under the Austro-Hungarian empire for centuries, then divided, in between borders with 3 diverse languages and culture.
The concept of diversity and unity will be spread using music and theater, involving artists from the sector.
There will also be high school students from a very multicultural Lycee in Paris.
In addition, the importance of involving the local communities in fundamental. We will co-create and co-program the activities and the final performances both with the students and both with the community.

Key objectives for sustainability
Environmental sustainability: the project aims to enhance, respect and convey all the naturalistic places where activities will be located. It wants to use the arts to spread positive messages or issues about the environment. All the trips will be done by train or using low carbon transports. We will use also tools to calculate our emissions to improve our impact in the future.
Social Sustainability: the project wants to embrace the local citizens, including them in focus group activities, to know more about the territory and be respectful of this and its people.
Economic sustainability: our practices will support long-term economic growth without negatively impacting social, environmental, and cultural aspects of the community. Different types of fundings will be used such as crowdfunding, donations, grants.

How Citizens benefit
We want to desgn a methodology that can be implemented in other cases of using arts to connect people. It's mandatory that music and theatre are a glue for the social cohesion, but it's also important to recognize that studying the people and social environment of the place is fundamental to build an effective methodology. So we will involve the local people, music students, students to implement the project together with artists and professionals.

Innovative character
It is often said that music connects people, it is true. But how? musicians often find themselves alone, not knowing their colleagues, in a very competitive and toxic environment.
The musician can be the emblem of society: if you don't know each other, you can't open up to others. This project wants to create vitality in the rural areas between Italy Austria and Slovenia, to lay the foundations of a cultural centre, where the arts connect people, where young musicians can perform in their own context, where there is ferment and cultural vitality. We want to build a method to spread in other parte of Europe and abroad.
