Description of the project
Summary
The project " Establishment and arrangement of the Tășnad Urban Garden" arose from the need to create a public space that would bring together members of the local community of different ages. The most ambitious goal of the project is to provide a change of perspective on the role of nature in a contemporary landscape. It aims to demonstrate that nature-based materials are not only feasible, but also provide an educational purpose. It offers both leisure experiences and educational experiences meant to highlight the importance of preserving the botanical heritage of the area and also facilitate accessibility to sport.
The Urban Garden is organized from three main areas: one equipped with children's playgrounds, volleyball courts for teenagers, and, one that contains a basketball court bordered by a natural amphitheater and not least 10 themed "outdoor salons. Three of these "salons" are located in the active area of the Garden, where athletes and spectators can meet and spend time together. Seven of them are hidden in the preexisting forest of oak and birch, so the experience equates to a complete immersion in nature.More than 5,000 plants will be added to the pre-existing flora, of which 12 species are on the list of endangered species, protected by environmental laws in Romania.
The concept of year-round planting will ensure an attractive outdoor area in every part of the park at any time of the year.Particular attention should be paid to the winter months. After the first frosts, most of the flowers and leaves fell out, then the forms of trees and bushes without foliage will be particularly noticeable. In winter many of them have intense color of bark, colorful fruits or interesting layouts of them. In addition to species that remain green throughout the year, especially in frost and snow Green spaces on natural soil will occupy min 90% from the total area of the land and will include lawn sown spaces, lawn rolls spaces spaces where spontaneous local vegetation

Key objectives for sustainability
Inspired by the wonderful place and the existing nature, being an unexplored place,as well as by the need for spaces for relaxation and guided by the principles of social inclusion, taking into account factors such as accessibility and affordability, taking into account also a minimal carbon footprint,we consider local communities and nature as the main beneficiaries of the project. The garden will be open to all visitors, tourists and locals,it will provide an interactive for all. The project was designed with solutions and materials based on nature.Driveways are built from compacted gravel, and forest paths are built from stabilized soil. A much more efficient solution than traditional screed and which ensures water permeability as well as resistance and regeneration at a lower cost.Solution used has the advantage of reducing the waste heat generated by other unfriendly materials such as asphalt.A natural amphitheater adjacent to the basketball court uses locally reclaimed logs for benches, and all outdoor furniture, including the playground,is made from eco-friendly materials.Regarding the existing flora, 5000 plant species will be added,of which 12 are included in the list of endangered species protected by the Romanian environmental law.The selection of plants includes everything from seeds to large trees, with the addition of 51 additional species native to Romania and regions with similar European climates. Thanks to the planting of these well-adapted native species, there is no need for an irrigation system, thus reducing maintenance costs for the community and the community of Tasnad. Most of the existing subterranean ecosystems remain untouched, infrastructure intervention being limited to less than 10% of the land surface. This also highlights the low cost of investment compared to the positive impact on the public.Another important element is the architectural lighting system of the Garden during the Night,it takes into account the intelligent consumption of energy.
Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
The aim of the project is to offer a change of perspective to the place, the city, the inhabitants on the role of nature in a contemporary landscape, especially urban. The garden is structured in 3 areas: one more public comprising sports facilities, one being a private basketball court bordered by its own private natural
amphitheater and the third made up of 17 "outdoor halls", former meadows inside existing deciduous forest. he first area consists of playgrounds and pumping tracks, visitors experience a spaciousness in nature. Our intention was to convey a sense of
peace, relaxation. So that the isolation of "zones" does not become an obstacle to orientation, all they are themed with plants: rose and herb 'zones'. All are unique in fragrance and design, being in themselves local landmarks. The project addresses local community learning and educational topics through experience, providing a year-round horticultural exhibition held on 4 hectares of natural land. The species were specifically chosen selected as an awareness tool for visitors. Information boards will be placed throughout areas.
The establishment of public recreation spaces for the local community:
• Development of new green and leisure spaces
• Creation of plant protection curtains
• establishing / expanding / rehabilitating the sports infrastructure
• Restoration, consolidation and preservation of the cultural and natural heritage objectives in the city
Tășnad
• Promotion and exploitation of the local tourist potential

It will be a tool to increase green spaces in the city, education and spaces for socialization.All the works proposed by this project aim to contribute to improving the quality of the green recreational spaces of Tășnad and facilitating free access to sports functions for the inhabitants of the city;

Disciplines/knowledge reflected
Several specialists were involved in the Urban Garden project, such as: architects, landscape architects, botanists, road engineers, structural engineers, plumbing engineers, geo-technical engineers, geo-technical experts, surveyors, photographers and representatives of municipality.Due to landslides dating back 30 years, an extensive Geotechnical study was carried out to provide precise solutions for a stabilized terrain. It was decided to carry out some earthworks to balance the steep natural slope towards the South side of the Pisicii Hill. Irrigation facilities have been reduced to a minimum in the managed areas to ensure that the land beneath the gardens is not at risk of landslides due to saturated soil. Planting was done accordingly, reinforcing the educational theme planned for Tasnad Gardens on the importance of local botanical heritage.
In the eastern part of the site, earthen terraces have been planned to ensure easy access for all age groups, as the topographical and geotechnical data allow. It was also important to have enough space to correctly position the outdoor sports facilities taking into account the movement of the sun during the day. A thorough photographic survey of the existing trees was carried out and the project considered the preservation of all trees.

Methodology used
This approach is minimally invasive with respect to the built environment. When it comes to landscaping, an approach is taken that creatively and thoroughly recognizes the beauty and joy of the nearby ecosystem as well as its fragility, ultimately contributing to the future cultural element of the garden.
How stakeholders are engaged
Considering the needs of the local community and the growing number of tourists attracted to the hot springs in the tourist town of Tasnad.A contract was signed with a company to carry out the feasibility study for an urban garden. This includes the development of an urban garden feasibility study. This includes detailed analysis and necessary research needed to achieve your urban garden plan. First Step Step into an urban oasis with a new sports facility open to the public. Additionally, the space preserves the existing deciduous forest as a recreational space for recreation and reconnecting with nature. Additionally, measures were taken to obtain building permits, conduct extensive ground surveys, and obtain building permits.
Global challenges
Preservation of plants and planting of new species of plants in terms of raising awareness regarding the benefit and beautification of landscape architecture.
Learning transferred to other parties
The aim of this project is to support change, encourage Omanis to support nature and provide spaces for relaxation. The exterior arrangements are a factor considered very important in the development of the project. It offers both recreational and educational experiences designed to highlight the importance of conserving the botanical heritage of the area and also facilitates accessibility to sports.
