The "Line" project entailed (in a nutshell) multi-criteria analyses, which laid the groundwork for the planning proposal, a chapter dedicated to case studies, with examples of similar projects, analysed and prioritised according to applicability, observations, interviews and public consultations that generated an effective planning solution validated by the end users, the citizens. The resulting landscape concept will be used as a guideline for future development. 

We are a brand of fashion and sustainable design products ethically produced born from the regeneration of fishing nets, textile waste and plastic waste recovered. Community products, made by local artisans, which activate processes of reuse and recycling of discards from the fishing industry and of plastics recovered from the sea.

The Mercè project carried out in Barcelona (2020) embodies a new research line that applies new machine learning techniques (one of the branches of artificial intelligence) to the disciplines of urban planning, geography, sociology, economics and urban health through a citizen science experiment whose objective is to build collective, objective knowledge and open data about urban environments with the aim of improving their livability.

The project is a smart city development strategy based on creating places and initiatives bringing water and biodiversity into the city. The digital platform aims to network social activities, promote knowledge, support civil society and build databases. That can constitute attractive knowledge for residents and tourists coming to Krakow.

Forest – A designer’s perspective is a holistic project looking into value of forests with zero-waste approach to using wood material. An alder tree is cut, researched and used in design: the solid wood material in a stool, the leftovers, branches,and bark - processed into fibres - in developing bio-based material for bowl shapes, paper is made for the publication, a shirt is died with the tree bark, leaves are made into tea and sauna "vihta" is made of leafy branches. What is the value of tree?

Precollinear Park: a Turin-based placemaking project transforming a former tramway bed into an urban linear park ー a new community hub as a response to Covid-19. The project was born out of participatory planning and generated a community of over 100 volunteers that develop and upkeep the reconquered public space. Furnished with reused co-designed materials, it has become a focal point for the local community, hosting gatherings, cultural events and even lessons partnering with nearby schools.

»ex_kurs« is a summer school for different generations and disciplines that brings together young pupils from disadvantaged or refugee families with university students, faculty and local players. Each year, a global challenge is addressed through local innovation. In 2021 we built and designed Germany's most sustainable and socially responsible community-run biogas plant.

“Savage” is a place in Latvian wilderness where people go to become а more self-aware and caring-for-the-group version of themselves, breathing in and out together with nature, seeing art, making art, listening to animals and poetry, discussing concepts in the daytime and dancing throughout the night; sometimes the other way around. 

“Savage” is a place of shared trust, wild meadows, building skills, changing perspectives, laying in the sun – everyone’s welcome.

Basketclub is an initiative that unites makers from around the globe around the theme of basketry. With a monthly brief that is communicated through an emoji, designers and artists are invited to make a basket based on a theme, creating an experimental series of baskets that can be traced back to the local context and handwriting of the maker. All outcomes are published on the dedicated @basketclub instagram which became an insightful archive of possibilities with this millennia old craft.

In Portugal, over 30 million toys end in landfills or incinerators every year. Led by Zero Waste Lab and Precious Plastic Portugal, REPLAY aims to reduce this waste, by promoting municipal community-driven circular networks, to collect and either repair and donate toys or recycle their materials. To complete the loop, an eco-design competition invited University students to develop a toy made from recycled plastic thus demonstrating how a toy can be sustainably engaging through its lifecycle.
