Boost for Municipalities 2025: All Applications

The project proposes to realize in Polizzi Generosa the functionalization of the following buildings as cultural containers:
- specific interventions on the Palazzo della Cultura and the Auditorium;
- specific interventions on the Cinema Teatro “Cristallo” and on the multifunctional Center of social and cultural aggregation with the annexed Contemporary Library that will move there;
- the redevelopment of the Casa Borgese;
- creation of a Socio-Cultural Center focused on Culture and Beauty

Schneeberg’s historic Siebenschlehener Pochwerk is being transformed into a vibrant cultural hub, blending mining heritage with modern creativity. The project revitalizes spaces for exhibitions, workshops, and events while ensuring accessibility and sustainability. As part of the UNESCO World Heritage, it connects tradition with innovation, fostering community engagement and cultural exchange.

The municipality of Aubel, driven by citizen committees, is proposing a project to revitalize and reintroduce greenery to the village center.
The project involves the development of Place Albert I and the construction of a multipurpose space directly connected to the building housing the services of the Public Social Action Center.
The multipurpose space will be used for meetings, gatherings, and exhibitions, meeting the needs expressed by local associations and the cultural committee.

A model area with nature-based solutions will be built in the Haapsalu Bay area with a high risk of flooding. For this purpose, a natural sedimentation area is created for the town's rainwater. Together with the community, the area will be developed into a species-rich, multipurpose green area with a nature trail. Towards the sea, a protective embankment with a light traffic road will be built from the soil of the rainwater channel.

Spārīte Park, part of the historic Marija Park (now merged with Emze Park), is a popular destination for both residents and visitors. Through the NGO "Dēms", residents submitted project proposals for Spārīte Park’s pathway renovation to the municipality’s Participatory Budgeting Project competition in 2023. after discussions between the municipality and project initiators, additional funding was allocated to install lighting alongside the pathway renovation. The project is now underway.

The Municipality of Celje is transforming the former Kajuhov dom into the Center for Urban Culture, fostering creativity, sustainability, and community engagement. This project aligns with New European Bauhaus values, creating an inclusive cultural hub. It supports artists, creatives, youth, and innovators while promoting urban innovation. Through adaptive reuse, it ensures a sustainable, energy-efficient space for co-creation, collaboration, and participatory urban development.

As part of a redevelopment project for a former wasteland on Mathurin Roger Street in Plouer-sur-Rance, the municipality launched a call for projects in 2022 to carry out a mixed development operation including social housing and a third-place for the community. The social landlord Néotoa was selected to carry out the project in joint project management, creating an exemplary development with innovative buildings, focusing on both energy performance and environmental and social quality

KUC is a new built environment that transform and revitalise centre of Ivančna Gorica into a high-quality and representative public space and creative centre of the municipality that meets the needs and expectations of citizens. KUC includes a cultural centre, a municipal library and an administration centre with an open public and an exhibition space. The building is self-sustainable and the unique cultural heritage of choral singing is subtly integrated into all programmes and services.

The project aims to regenerate the former Cremeria Emiliana by renovating unused spaces and introducing new functions. The vision is to restore identity through beauty, sharing, education, and culture, creating an active local network. The mission is to transform the area into a community hub with educational and work orientation services for young people by restoring abandoned buildings and fostering collaboration among existing and external stakeholders.

Together with neighboring citizens, the municipality proposed to recycle an anesthetic old garage for farming machines into a new multifunctional and intergenerational third place. Objectives underpinning this project are threefold: i) revitalizing social life in the village center with a nice place where people can meet; ii) creating a municipal canteen for both children and elderly; iii) offering new spaces for cultural projects and artists in residence.
