Summary
The Canoë Guinguette is a non-profit association (in french law) proposing :

Key objectives for sustainability
The Canoë Guinguette takes place in a meadow next to the river Vienne, in a natural protected area. The construction in itself is a removable wooden gazebo designed by an architecture student (member of the association).
The structure is made of driftwood that we collected in the river. The other parts of wood are upcycled or come from a local sawmill and from local sustainably managed forest.
There are no concrete fondations in the ground, the structure is laid on removable big rocks. The idea is to leave no traces when we leave the meadow at the and of summer.
All the food and drinks are local and organics. The Guinguette will have is own compost area for the kitchen organic waste and for the dry toilet.
Everything is second hand included the tableware and furnitures, for that we created event and communication about donation.

Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
The aesthetics are one of the most important point in our projet.
We think that is very important to propose a beautiful place for the people.
We want to create a place that looks good and that integrate itself in the landscape. The gazebo is 45 square meter. The architecture is light and discreet.
The bar takes half of the surface of the gazebo, the other half is for people to go through, play, sit... This is where the aesthetics meet the functionality.
The tables, chairs and deckchairs will be in the meadow next to the river. Everything is second hand, that gives the place a special aesthetics and highlights our sustainable development ideal.
The decoration will be done in collaboration with local artists.

Key objectives for inclusion
The Canoë Guinguette approach is the inclusivity.
We have chosen a non-profit association (in french law) to run the Canoë Guinguette.
That allow people to propose and take initiatives to run and animate the place.
Regarding the accessibility the Canoë Guinguette can host people in wheelchairs or other forms of handicap.
The affordability is also a very important thing for us because rural France is not Paris. Most of the population leave on low incomes (small agriculture, services, jobs in industry or shops). Our princing is made considering that without sacrificing the quality or the producer.
We started to partner with other local organisations and associations so they can propose work shops, meetings, events at the Canoë Guinguette.
Many work shop will be done by local associations defending the biodiversity of the river (fishes, birds, plants) and the sustainable development in general.
Physical or other transformations
Innovative character
The Canoë Guinguette is designed to be a beautiful place made and run in a sustainable way where people can meet and be together !
The approach can be exemplary because we want to show people that it is possible to create beauty and fun in a rural place where places like that do not exist !
We want to say to the people "Yes ! We made that place for you ! Come and join us, participate"
It is also very important for us that the place looks good and is made in a sustainable way for the same reasons. We want to people to realise that making a beautiful place is not that hard and make it sustainable is not a constraint.
It is a example also in the way that it is easy to duplicate it an some others rural ou urban places !
