Description of the project
Summary
Melody is an ambitious sustainable agritourism project driven by a deep commitment to creating value for employees, the local community, suppliers, and customers. Rooted in strong core values emphasizing ethical business practices, open communication, and responsible issue resolution, Melody is a symbol of harmony between agriculture, nature, and local culture. This agritourism concept aims to revive rural activities, showcasing the region's rich gastronomy, history, and traditions.
The inspiration for Melody came from my father's dream to establish an organic farm and agritourism venture that would not only preserve our village's values but also have a positive societal impact.
We are dedicated to creating value for our stakeholders through ethical business practices and open communication. Despite facing challenges inherent to our context, we are committed to being a responsible enterprise. We aim to tackle issues like internal migration, which has led to the depopulation of rural areas, by creating employment opportunities for young people and a market for local families.
Our vision extends to Thumana, a region marked by the 2019 earthquake. We aim to contribute to its recovery and revival. Melody is still in the developmental stage, but we possess a clear vision, a dedicated team, and are actively working on detailed planning, resource acquisition, and regulatory compliance. We are excited about the potential of Melody and are determined to make it a thriving agritourism destination.
In summary, Melody is more than an agritourism venture; it's a symphony of sustainability, community, and positive change. We strive to bridge the gap between rural and urban, harmonize agriculture, nature, and culture, and rekindle the village's essence, creating a lasting social impact.

Key objectives for sustainability
The key objectives of the Melody project revolve around sustainability in various aspects, and they intend to be diligently pursued to exemplify a holistic approach to sustainability.
Firstly, Melody is committed to creating economic sustainability through its economic activity, providing more employment opportunities, which is critical for rural areas such as Thumana, which on the other side is facing depopulation and internal migration.
Secondly, Melody's emphasis on creating a local sales market and requiring professional workers for various roles, a long-term commitment to economic sustainability, ensuring that the economic benefits have a lasting impact on the community.
Thirdly, the project recognizes the importance of environmental sustainability, by promoting a deep connection with nature and the environment, by showcasing the region's rich gastronomy history, and resources of the area.
Fourthly, Melody's agritourism concept includes eco-friendly practices and highlights the significance of preserving the environment, being an example model for other new ventures that can integrate and promote environmental sustainability and tourism.
Fifthly, Melody is deeply rooted in social sustainability by addressing challenges faced by rural communities, such as depopulation and loss of cultural heritage, through close collaboration with the local community in raising awareness about local heritage and traditions. Meanwhile, building a bridge between urban and rural communities fosters social cohesion and harmony.
Finally, Melody the cultural heritage of the region, by preserving and promoting the unique cultural elements of the region by actively engaging with the local community, emphasizing a lot of community involvement, partnerships, and open communication, by creating examples of how close collaboration with local residents can be a driving force behind the sustainability of agritourism ventures.

Key objectives for aesthetics and quality
First of all, Melody is a completely environment-friendly environment, aesthetic as well as offering the opportunity to relax near nature, enjoy traditional food. Undoubtedly, in the future, we intend to devirsify our services, but this will be step by step. But, in our mission, Melody will be a very important actor for the area, especially after the situation we went through with the earthquake in 2019, it will finance many other enterprises with a social character.
Quality will be another strong point of melody, from the information we will convey to employees, partners, the community, as well as in relations with customers. The service will be of the right quality, showing ethics and responsibility in serving citizens/customers.
Melody will serve as an educational center for visitors, where they will learn about the history of the area, culture, cultural heritage, gastronomy, etc.

Key objectives for inclusion
The Melody project places a significant emphasis on inclusion in various dimensions, aiming to be exemplary in this context:
Melody's primary objective is to make the agritourism experience accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background, by providing infrastructure that accommodates individuals with disabilities, offering opportunities for everyone to participate, and creating a truly inclusive environment.
We are aware that the experience is affordable for a wide range of visitors, based on the market survey that we have conducted. Seeing the importance that the sector has at this moment in Albania, we will try to set an example by actively involving all stakeholders, including the government system.
Melody will play a crucial role, in the social aspect of the region, addressing issues like depopulation, job opportunities, and community building. In this context, I truly believe that Melody can inspire similar projects to prioritize inclusion and accessibility, contributing to a more diverse and inclusive agritourism industry in Albania.

How Citizens benefit
Melody will generate valuable employment opportunities for all local residents, particularly young individuals from rural backgrounds. This contribution will not only support their professional development but also enhance their economic well-being. Additionally, Melody will establish a supply chain that encompasses the entire community. In this context, the community will receive education on business practices, including the specific products that Melody requires, their quantity, and quality standards. This knowledge will influence the division of roles, allowing different families to specialize in producing specific goods such as dairy, meat, or fruits and vegetables. This collaborative effort ensures that Melody's needs are met and fosters a sense of economic empowerment within the community.
Physical or other transformations
It refers to a physical transformation of the built environment (hard investment)
Innovative character
The project's primary objective is to harness solar energy as the predominant power source through the installation of photovoltaic panels. This commitment ensures the utilization of entirely clean energy to support all aspects of the production cycle, extending to the provision of Melody products. This encompasses functions such as lighting, heating, kitchen operations, and cleaning, among others.
Melody's approach to renewable energy sets it apart as an industry leader because there are no other businesses like Melody, that are using this innovative approach while doing business. On the other side, this might serve as an inspiration for other agritourism ventures and businesses in the broader tourism industry.

Methodology used
In 2023, Melody achieved first place in a national project funded by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO). As a crucial starting point, we conducted a needs assessment to understand the local community's demands and challenges, as well as the expectations of potential visitor.
This data collection process provided us with valuable insights that laid the foundation for meticulous planning, which has always been a cornerstone of Melody's strength. Recognizing the importance of multidisciplinary expertise, we engaged experts in various fields, including agriculture, gastronomy, and environmental science. This collaborative approach ensured that every facet of the project, from sustainable farming practices to eco-friendly architecture, was thoughtfully designed and seamlessly integrated.
Above all, our approach from the project's inception aimed for comprehensiveness, focusing on the impact we create in economic, social, and environmental realms, and in the messages we convey as a business. These encompass the preservation of cultural heritage and history, the promotion of gastronomy, innovative solar energy utilization, and the provision of quality services at an affordable cost for our clients. This holistic approach has been instrumental in shaping Melody into a well-rounded and impactful agritourism venture.
