Summary

The goal of the project is to show what the modern world is heading towards. The world is ruled by social networks, it is they who produce to whom to give power, and from whom to take it away. Therefore, every person wants to be a part of social networks, and therefore turns his whole life into content, everything from birth to death is content. And I'm afraid that architecture will also soon become just content. The Barbieland project shows how the craft of architecture can turn into secondary content for social networks.Currently, there is such a trend in the world that people use their professions to create content and stop prioritizing professional achievements, and pursue blogging success. All life turns into a race for likes, views and monetization of content. And less and less preference is given to professionalism.

Unfortunately, in our world it is easier to achieve success in social networks than in a professional job. Therefore, as an experiment, I decided to make content from my professional skills in the field of architecture and urban planning. The main goal of which was a bright and high-quality picture that attracts the attention of followers faster than quality professional work.

Today's values ​​are a bright, high-quality picture with a dynamic presentation of no more than 30 seconds. This is what the whole world is striving for! I just want to show how, over time, architecture can turn from a profession into a content. How an ancient craft can turn into a bright, high-quality picture with a dynamic presentation of no more than 30 seconds. Because only this is valued in the world now.

I am not the only person who watches how schoolchildren get money and fame thanks to social networks. And we children of the 90s only have a profession and many years of experience. Therefore, we have no choice but to turn our profession into content, because this is the only way to achieve success, money and fame. The concept of Barbieland is a product of the above beliefs.

Somehow I realized that in order to achieve success in architecture, I may need many years of conscientious work, gaining experience and authority, and maybe even more than one lifetime. And then she looked around and saw how schoolchildren without education become rich and successful thanks to social networks. And I thought why should I not use my professional architectural skills in order to achieve success in social networks. And so the idea "if the brand were a land" was born, where I take a world-famous brand and make an architectural concept of the city in the style inherent in this brand. This is how the concept of Barbieland appeared.A month of work for the sake of a bright, high-quality picture with a dynamic presentation, lasting no more than 30 seconds. But by no means a commercial, professional architectural project.

It's a tragedy because I'm 28 and I'm going to turn my profession as an architect into content, I'm going to put all my energy and all my talent into 30-second videos for followers who zombify scrolling through the feed and don't understand the value of the work that was done to create these 30 seconds.

And I am one of them, and how many of us are like that, and how many will become like that???? How many children have already been born, the birth of which was watched by the whole world, and the growth of which is still being watched. How many such children are there whose parents have already prepared a social network page and are waiting for the child to grow up and continue to turn his life into content.

Methodology used

So I am a hostage of the modern world with its trends, with its young millionaires and the opportunities provided by social networks. I am the creator of a unique content called "if a brand were a land". And I am sure that I will not have competitors in this business, because there is hardly a person in the world who, for free, will spend a lot of time and resources on developing the concepts of entire cities, in order to receive a 30-second video, which will then fall into the cesspool of the rest of the same videos of the same from global social networks.

Just think, a person is ready to spend a month of time, professional experience, apply all his skills for FREE! for the sake of a bright, high-quality picture with a dynamic presentation, lasting no more than 30 seconds, because yes, there are more chances to succeed, to get money, fame and recognition as an architect.

Clip thinking leads to: mass syndrome of attention disorder; loss of desire to learn new things; destruction of the need and ability for creativity, which is facilitated by the constant use of secondary information at the level of its processing and combination; inconsistencies in the way of thinking, the way of life; inconsistencies in decision-making regarding solving problems, even purely vital ones, and weakening responsibility for their consequences; decrease in the ability to analyze and synthesize; mass ignorance of the youth and the phenomenon of proud enthusiasm for their ignorance; absolute confidence in one's rightness; a sharp decrease in the coefficient of knowledge assimilation and the actual success of training; falsification of assessment.
And this is a mental model of modern reality - the time of short phrases and thoughts.

Learning transferred to other parties

The problem is that the development of the Internet has led to the fact that the current young generation thinks less and less logically, perceiving the received information superficially and fragmentarily. This is called clip thinking, that is, a person perceives the surrounding reality as a sequence of unrelated phenomena, and not as a complete picture. The brain simply does not have time to build a logical chain, and the received information is quickly forgotten, making room for a new one.
