Project Description

"Exotic Tirana" epitomizes my nature passion, emphasizing the vital need to reconnect with nature. Once a concrete-producing site, it transformed into a vast park with diverse trees and plants, seamlessly blending with natural aesthetics elements. Over years, I gathered rare plants from all over the world, mostly exotic ones like succulents and cacti. Thriving in Tirana's suburbs, they compose the region's first exotic botanical garden, symbolizing the integration of cultural education of nature

Description of the project

Summary

Transforming 0.5 hectares of Tirana's suburbs into 'Exotic Tirana,' I've curated a botanical "heaven" in 0.5 hectare of my property with a diverse array of succulents, cacti, aloes, and thousands of rare plants sourced globally. This project caters to a wide range of audiences, including nature enthusiasts, tourists, students of environmental studies, botanists, and art and landscape architecture enthusiasts. My background in environmental studies (Bachelor's in Albania) and interior design (Master's in Italy) enabled me to strategically create and position these plants on specific reliefs, utilizing small hills, rocks, pebbles, stones, small rivers with stones, and ponds, creating a unique landscape microclimate.

The specific objectives of 'Exotic Tirana' are multifold: firstly, I established the Western Balkans' first botanical garden integrated with artistic landscape design. Secondly, to showcase the potential of the region's climate and contribute to urban rehabilitation by transforming a concrete space into a rare oasis. Thirdly, to serve as an educational hub for environmentalists, botanists, and students of art and landscape architecture, fostering a deeper understanding of the harmonious intersection of nature and design in an urban setting.

The project's achievements go beyond its visually stunning appearance. It surpasses most European botanical gardens in diversity within this space, incorporating natural elements like various types of stones and crystal rocks. 'Exotic Tirana' stands as a testament to my commitment to showcasing art through plants and landscape design. Beyond attracting tourists, the center aims to enrich the knowledge and appreciation of its visitors for the environment, biodiversity, and sustainable urban planning. It is a transformative initiative that not only contributes to the aesthetic appeal of the region but also serves as a beacon of inspiration and education for generations to come."
